Makeup Haul

OK. I fully admit to the fact that I have a slight addiction to anything make up related, so I’m just putting it out there, time to explain why every item of this make up haul is completely essential! Some are old favorites that I always rely on and will continue to stick with, unless something better comes along and some new items I have recently purchased and fallen completely obsessed with!

Palettes
Never one for a lot of colour, sticking mostly to neutrals and browns, I have slowly made a few purchases to push my boundaries a little – and they have paid off. Recently getting the new Tartelle palette (even though I don’t want to ruin the Tarte embossing on the eye shadows!) it has the perfect amount of warm and cool tones that are essential to create a day to evening eye look. Also the Hourglass Modernist Eyeshadow Palette, a little more prestigious but has an array of both shimmery and matte shadows that are able to be customised to an array of different looks. Palettes are a definite essential and an investment – apart from when you hit bottom on that one favorite colour!
Tarte – Tartelette in bloom
Make Up Forever – Trio Palette (created by choosing an empty palette and selecting eyeshadows of choice!)
Updates 1Hourglass – Modernist Eyeshow Palette – Infinity

Lips
With the Kylie Lip kit in full swing I’m on a more subtle version of this trend opting for lighter matte shades from both Nars and Sephora. And when not in a lipstick mood I keep one of three of my Mecca tinted lip pots in my handbag that give the perfect amount of sheen and the slightest colour for any day time look, keeping your lips moist all day too!
Mecca Tinted Lip Trio – Air Kisses (Limited Edition)
Nars – Cruising
Sephora – Rouge Shine – 5084A and 5141B

Cheeks/Bronzers
Being quite pale I tend to give myself a little tint of fake tan here and there and therefore bronzer is my best friend, giving the perfect warmth (and so that your face isn’t a completely different shade to the rest of your body!). Nude by Nature has a great range of pressed powders for all skin tones, but I tend to opt for a bronzer most days to give myself a ‘healthy glow’. For a more night time look I add a subtle contour with the Hourglass Ambient Lighting bronzer.
Nude By Nature – Pressed Matte Mineral Bronzer
Hourglass – Ambient Lighting Bronzer –  Luminous Bronze Light
Nars Blush – Angelika

Highlighters
I could go to town with most highlights like most of us, more is more right!? The Clinique chubby stick is the ultimate easy application, just swipe – cheekbones, eyebrow bone, ridge of the nose and cupids bow and you are go to go and glowing. The Becca pressed powder has the most perfect and very subtle shimmer – but don’t be fooled its light reflecting heaven!
Becca – Shimmering Skin Perfector – Moonstone
Clinique Chubby Stick Sculpting Highlight Illuminator Visage – 02 Super Starlight

Mascara
The perfect mascara is always a difficult one to find, I tend to move around and try lots of different ones. Currently I have become immune to the Nars Audacious Mascara, so far so good! Also Pony Cosmetics, if you haven’t saddled up and given this one a go I highly recommend it, with it’s primer also attached inside the one applicator this one has definitely not disappointed me.

Nars – Audacious Mascara
Pony Cosmetics – The White Knight
Urban Decay – Perversion

Base/Powder/Concealer
I never leave the house without applying SPF under my makeup no matter what the weather. To cut down time in the morning I mix both my sunscreen and primer in one (multitasking at its best!) that gives me the best base and super smooth skin to apply my foundation. I couldn’t live a day without concealer, if I don’t wear foundation I will always apply Nars Radiant Creamy Concealer under my eyes and apply loose powder to set it in place – no one wants creases!
Clinique – Super City Block 40+ SPF
Clinique – Superprimer
Nars – Radiant Creamy Concealer
Nars – Soft Velvet Loose Powder – Eden

Eyes/Brows
On weekdays I tend to keep it low maintenance when it comes to eye make up, either with a soft brown eyeshadow and a little eye liner. After finding the new Clinique Skinny meets Chubby Sticks I have been hooked, having always worn black eye liner, this has opened up my world to more subtle and a little colour with dark brown and navy eye liners. If your not going to worry about too much eye makeup then the alternative, no wait, the necessity is to fill in your brows! Always! It will totally transform your face and the Bobbi Brown long wear brow pencil is the easiest application I have yet to use with its chiseled pencil end.
Bobbi Brown – Perfectly Defined Long-Wear Brow Pencil – Espresso
Nars Eyeshadow Duo – Key Largo
Sephora – Waterproof Colourful Shadow and Liner – Dark Brown Matte
Clinique Skinny Meets Chubby Stick – Skinny Jeans and Slim Stable

Brushes
The main two brushes I can’t live without as of recent, both by Manicare. The stippling brush takes all the messiness out of applying foundation, with less wastage and leaves your skin looking very sheer and streak free. The powder brush is perfect for applying bronzer whilst maximising coverage so it takes less time.

  1. I am becoming addict too. I looked at your haul and it’s amazing. The colors are beautiful. I’ve recently become obsesses with makeup and buying more and more of it (luckily, I’m still on a very inexpensive budget). Also, I find I am watching more and more of the blending, highlighting, makeup shopping, and other makeup/skincare related videos on youtube, which has really helped me as I was one for a standard look, no changes, for many, many years. I love playing now. Enjoy your haul and I hope you find lots more of what you want.
