MSFW Witchery Style

Playing OOTD Melbourne Spring Fashion Week (MSFW) catch ups as I finally put together the two looks I wore making use of the amazing collection and style from Witchery this season.

Outfit No.1 consisted of a very simple shirt and pants combo. Opting for, I dare say, outfit repeater navy flare pant, with a fresh sheer silk white open collar shirt. This shirt is a modern take on a classic oversized white shirt, with its plunging collar and large pocket details. With such a simple outfit, the aim was to look as relaxed and effortless as possible, yet fashionably ‘cool’ to pull this look off for fashion week. Leaving the shirt untucked, rolling the sleeves up quite ‘messily’ or just unbuttoning the cuffs for that underplay of what would be recognised to be a structured and tailored outfit. Instead of the typical black pant I chose navy as a subtle surprise – navy is a great way to add ‘colour’ without going full colour overload – and in my experience and personal preference is to wear one colour at a time.

Outfit No.2 I chose a very structured skirt from Witchery that became the ‘hero’ of the look. Not trying to overpower the amazing details of this skirt I pieced a long sleeved turtleneck jumper and a long line vest to add another layer. What’s so great about this skirt, being so neutral in colour that it can be wore with a wide range of other neutrals such as tan, khaki, nude and of course the necessities, black and white. Finding statement pieces like this are ideal for an event like fashion week, but I am also a firm believer in choosing pieces that will work across all seasons – and this is the ultimate skirt for summer, paired with a basic white tee and sneakers.
