Winter Favourites

If you’re one of the unlucky few that haven’t jetted off to the northern hemisphere to escape this Australian winter, then like me, you are now feeling the affects on both your skin and your wardrobe! I have collated some of my favourite new purchases and my go to essentials to survive especially chilly winter that is definitely upon us.

Faking the Winter Glow
Clinique Chubby Sticks have been my go-to item for a quick and easy makeup look. With the convenience of foundation in a stick, which creates buildable, long wearing coverage for natural looking skin. Especially in winter when we all want to have healthy dewy looking skin, the cream base coutour and highlighting sticks are perfect to fake a summer glow, even in the middle of winter. Create structure to the cheekbones, jawline, forehead and nose and blend till your hearts content. The sculpting highlighter is perfect way to brighten up your skin and help draw attention to the high points of your face - upper cheek bones, brow bone, cupids bow and bridge of the nose. More talk about the Clinique Chubby Stick Family in my previous post here.

Taking the Day Off
Another Clinque favourite of mine that is a complete time saver is their continued range of Take the Day Off products that now come in a small makeup remover stick, perfect for on the go touch ups and convenient towellettes that thoroughly remove your makeup at night.

All in the Details
Along with my current obsession with my leather jacket are the perfect (and oh so comfortable) pair of leather sneakers from Wittner. With it's knotted bow detail they are the epitome of contemporary edge to create a simple denim and coat OOTD look uber chic!

Skin Rituals
I have always taken my mums advice, with it comes to taking care of my skin. Especially in the winter months your skin tends to become much drier, sometimes your normal moisturiser just doesn't cut it. Recently I have found using the Lancome Genifique Youth Activating Concentrate along with my normal skincare routine has helped kept my skin hydrated and dewy (as well as smoothing fine lines, boosting radiance,  evening skin tone and texture I'm not going to complain about that either!) I have also introduced the Lancome Light-Pearl Eye Illuminator as I tend to get a little drier in winter under my eyes. With its ergonomic massage pearl applicator, it helps to reduce dark circles, diminish eye bags and makes eyes appear larger - I'm definitely happy if it does all of the above!

Leather Loving
A leather jacket is an item of your winter wardrobe that will 1. Keep you warm from the elements 2. Make any outfit look super chic and 3. Survive a lifetime. This is essential item for winter and when you find the right jacket you will think ‘how did I ever survive without it’. Check out my previous post 'Investing in a leather jacket' for my check list when searching for your dream leather piece.

Let me know in the comments below what your July favorites have been so far.
