JAPAN TRAVEL DIARY

Ok, you caught me. I have been back to Japan more than I can count on two hands, but that won’t stop me from going back!
After a few days into my travels unfortunately my new camera decided to become faulty and I was left with the rest of my travels with my iPhone 6 (so apologies for the quality – not up to its usual standard!). I have managed to put together my Japan travel diary as a series of food, flat lays and scenery, so hopefully I can convince you to book a ticket to Japan right away! I promise you won’t regret it.

Flying into Tokyo you definitely get that initial culture shock as your thrown right into crowds of people crammed into the subway. Somehow with their accuracy for time and organisation Japan functions so seamlessly! My brief stop in Tokyo was of course not complete without a visit to Disneyland – where you can’t help but forget all your life problems and become completely consumed. After a 3 hour Shinkansen ride and I spent a couple of days in Hiroshima where after seeing the Genbaku Dōmu (Atomic Bomb Dome) multiple times still amazes me and the beautiful Peace Park with its paper cranes flooding in by the millions is a sight you must see at least once! After eating my way through Hiroshima, including all forms of green tea ice cream (and trying to get through each city’s famously recognised food) it was on to Kyoto. Visiting both the Kiyomizu-dera and Kinkaku-ji (Temple of the Golden Pavilion).
Last stop and my longer stay was in Nagoya, maybe not one of the more famous cities but is definitely one of my favourites (for obvious reasons being this is where my best friend lives!). Spent a week cruising around the best department stores – Matsuzakaya and Mitsukoshi – with literally every European brand at your fingertips. Japan is known for its amazing service and they have customer service down pat to the point of over service! So it’s no trouble to walk into Celine and literally try everything on and walking out with absolutely nothing – however not my style, I always come out with at least one item in Celine. But to be able to try on everything is quite the experience and so much fun! The rest of my time was spent at any coffee shop or Starbucks who had free wifi, grocery shopping for yummy food to send back home, taking way too much time choosing unnecessary amounts of stationery and going out for amazing dinners (Japanese have killer Italian food, go figure!).

As with any holiday there is always the depressing part of coming home and getting back to reality and work mode. But after every trip overseas it just makes me want to work that much harder so I can jet set off to somewhere else. So with that said I have already booked my next trip (even before I left for Japan!) so the saving starts now! I’m going to a City/Country I have never been to before which makes it that much more exciting (will announce soon!)

Anyone been to Japan and have the love for this country as much as I do? Or have I convinced anyone to ‘book a ticket and just go’?
